In September, the UFC announced a series of fights with a major press conference in Las Vegas.
In attendance were numerous champions and other big name fighters, including Conor McGregor and his opponent for the lightweight belt on March 5th, Rafael dos Anjos.
On the day, there was a memorable exchange between McGregor and dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos fielded a question from the gathered media requesting his feelings regarding comments made by McGregor.
The Dubliner felt at the time, and no doubt still feels, that anyone would desire a fight against him due to the lucrative remuneration.
Not content with the lightweight champion's answer, McGregor thought his point required further emphasis.
What came next debuted his well-known 'red panty night' line.
Ask yourself truthfully, if Dana rang you and said 'You don't have to fight Cerrone, you can fight McGregor' even though Cerrone was still fit, would you take it? You're damn right you'd take it.
Because I'd change your bum life. I can make you rich. I change your bum life.
You fight me it's a celebration. When you sign to fight me it's a celebration. You ring back home, you ring your wife - 'Baby, we done it! We're rich, baby! Conor McGregor made us rich! Break out the red panties. We're rich baby.'
