"I thought that was going to be the first questions I got when I walked in here, I'm proud of you guys," Dana White told the gathered media at the press conference following the UFC's event in Liverpool on Sunday.
The question which had been asked was one about Conor McGregor. The UFC president and the Irish fighter were scheduled to meet in the city. It seems that did not happen but another face-to-face discussion between the two is on the cards.
"Conor and I are going to meet in Vegas," said White.
"He and I haven't seen each other since New York; we haven't seen each other, we haven't talked, nothing - we need to get together soon."
The chances that McGregor will re-enter our consciousness for what he became known - being a UFC fighter - rather than other antics is a possibility.
First, he will have to negotiate a court appearance in New York, arising from his behaviour in Brooklyn at a UFC 223 media day in April. The 29-year-old is facing three charges of assault and one of criminal mischief.
"It depends what goes on with him in New York in June," disclosed White. "We can't determine anything about him until June is cleared up."
Regarding what could be McGregor's next opponent in the octagon - he's hasn't fought in the UFC since defeating Eddie Alvarez to claim the lightweight belt back in November 2016 - White said a lightweight title bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov is a prospect.
"I’m pretty confident that is the fight that Conor wants, and I’m pretty confident that that is the fight that Khabib wants. So, yeah, I could see that happening."
