Maybe in a few years time this could become a reality, you never know. Conor McGregor becomes even more popular with each UFC win and his outspoken personality has gathered him lots of vocal supporters.
His popularity initially was confined within the sport of MMA but he has long been adopted by the mainstream and now, it seems, by the electorate.
The General Election results are being counted as we speak, and it looks like there will be a lot of upheaval. The phrase 'political earthquake' has been used all day to describe the chaos but it would have been a political tsunami had votes like this been accepted.

This passionate McGregor fan spoiled his vote but his point is well made. The country is crying out for change and this man thinks the Dublin fighter is the man to bring it.
Maybe after he wins a UFC belt in a second weight class McGregor might consider running. He certainly has an ego to match those strutting around Dáil Eireann.
