Conor McGregor was arrested and subsequently released by Miami Beach Police on Monday.

The Dubliner was charged with strong arm robbery and criminal mischief following an incident at the Fontainebleau Hotel at 5:20am on Monday.

An arrest report from police reads:

The victim and the defendant were exiting the Fontainebleau Hotel and the victim attempted to take a picture of the defendant with his cell phone. The defendant slapped the victim's phone out of his hand, causing it to fall to the floor. The defendant then stomped on the victim's phone several times. damaging it. The defendant then picked up the victim's phone and walked away with it, depriving him of it. Victim stated the phone was valued at $1,000. The defendant was located and arrested.

The Miami Herald reports that McGregor was not arrested at the scene. Police spent the day investigating and later found him at a Miami Beach address. It's said that the incident was captured by CCTV.

McGregor was released from custody after posting the $12,500 bond.

The 30-year-old's attorney Samuel J Rabin Jr said:

"Last evening Conor McGregor was involved in a minor altercation involving a cellphone that resulted in a call to law enforcement.

"Mr McGregor appreciates the response of law enforcement and pledges his full cooperation."

The UFC fighter has been in the city on holiday. Last week, he completed five days of community service in New York following an incident at a UFC media day in April of last year.
