Say what you will about Conor McGregor but the man never minces his words.
One of the highlights of McGregor and Nate Diaz's media conference call last Friday was the Dubliner's complete lack of respect for the WWE and the world of professional wrestling.
Ronda Rousey, arguably the only member of the UFC roster with a similar level of crossover fame as McGregor, has already flirted with the WWE and even made a high profile appearance at Wrestlemania, the WWE's flagship event. McGregor, it seems, won't be following suit anytime soon.
When asked during the conference call if he even saw himself joining the likes of Sheamus, Becky Lynch and Finn Bálor as Irish members of the WWE roster, McGregor resoundly shut down the idea.
For the most part, those WWE guys are pussies, to be honest. They're messed up pussies, if you ask me. Fair play to Brock [Lesnar], he got in and fought, but at the end of the day he was juiced up to the fucking eyeballs, so how can I respect that? And then what's the other guy? The other guy hasn't fought yet, so I don't know about him yet.
That "other guy" he refers to is CM Punk who makes his MMA debut at UFC 203 in September, one of a handful of athletes to transition betweent he two sports. McGregor, though, did reserve a level of praise for a handful of WWE stars.
There's some dons in that wrestling game. The McMahons, they're dons. Triple H is a don. The Rock is a don. But the rest of them are pussies.
Well, it seems someone might have spoken to McGregor about how alienating the massive pro-wrestling market of MMA fans might have a negative impact on his fan support, or pay-per-view buys for this upcoming rematch with Nate Diaz so, just to be safe, McGregor posted a clarification tweet.
And in true McGregor style, he couldn't resist taking another shot at the WWE.
I didn't mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I'd slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday's.

*UPDATE*
Former WWE champion Roman Reigns has responded to McGregor's jibe at the WWE, though in grammatically incorrect fashion. Kurt Angle is now getting in on the act too.
Your the size of my leg. Shut up. https://t.co/fBVEdf8hE1
