Danish company IO Interactive, the developers of the popular 'Hitman' game series, have announced that they're ending their 'collaboration' with Conor McGregor.

The decision comes off the back of Friday's High Court hearing in Dublin, where McGregor was found liable of assault in the sexual assault case taken against him by Nikita Hand.

The former MMA star was also ordered to pay Ms. Hand a sum of nearly €250,000 by a jury.

McGregor had been added to the most recent edition of 'Hitman' as an 'Elusive Target' just four months ago, with players able to play as McGregor in a remote MMA Arena.

Players will be able to have their next Elusive Target be none other than Conor McGregor, aka The Disruptor. Enter a remote MMA fighting arena and eliminate the target by any means necessary.

In a statement released on their social media channels on Monday afternoon, the Danish gaming company said that they take the High Court ruling 'very seriously' and said it will 'cease collaboration' with the Dublin MMA fighter.

In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately.

We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today.

There has been pressure placed on companies with a business interest in McGregor in the wake of Friday's ruling.

The Rape Crisis Network Ireland have called on companies who stock the Dubliner's alcohol brands like Proper Twelve whiskey to begin a boycott.

RCNI's executive director Cliodhna Saidléar calling on retailers not to align themselves with McGregor, saying:

The companies making money from his alcohol and other products need to look at whether they want to align themselves with a man found by a civil jury to have sexually assaulted a woman.

Balls.ie have contacted brands like Wynn Hotels and Monster Energy who have worked with McGregor in the past to clarify if they still are reviewing their working relationship with the fighter.
