Coach John Kavanagh has shared his doubts regarding claims that Dillon Danis aimed "an anti-Muslim slur" at Khabib Nurmagomedov after his bout with Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on Saturday night.
Danis, who trains with the Irish fighter, vehemently denied the accusations; "Khabib fans are attempting to smear me in an effort to justify his actions. I have never and would never denigrate anyone's religion."
Responding to the doubts of American sports journalist Jeff Wagenheim, Coach Kavanagh explained the reasons why he believed Danis' claims held up.
Taking to his Twitter account, Kavanagh argued; "Even if you believe Dillon is a perpetual liar for some reason just think about it.
"Have you any idea how loud that arena was at that moment? Imagine how loud Dillon would have to be screaming at for Khabib to hear him?
"Yet no mics or anyone credible heard it? Strange eh?"
As per Danis, he is currently awaiting the findings of the Nevada Gaming Commission as they make inquiries into the claims.
