Things were good for Alex Nicholson on Friday night.
He proposed to his girlfiend Hannah at the weigh-in for Fight Night Las Vegas and she accepted.
His UFC debut did not follow suit in terms of success.
Nicholson was up against Latvian Misha Cirkunov in a light heavyweight bout, himself only in his second UFC fight.
Less than 90 seconds into the second round, the fight was over following a vicious neck crank by Cirkunov which saw Nicholson's jaw audibly pop out of its socket.
Nicholson had previously suffered a broken jaw and said that he tapped out as he did not want to go through the experience of having it wired shut once again.
He got my neck and he's so strong, I've broken my jaw before and I heard it pop and I really didn't want my jaw wired shut again so I tapped even though I never tap.
