At the UFC 205 press conference last weekend, the animosity between Conor McGregor and Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone was obvious. The Irishman referred to Cerrone as a 'bitter old fighter'.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Cerrone has spoken about what McGregor is like off camera and how he is perceived by other fighters.
Behind the scenes he's like a scared little kid. He hides from us. They line us all up but they take Conor and put him off in another room because he can't be around the other fighters because we don't play that shit.
Cerrone added that McGregor is disliked 'by all' his fellow UFC employees.
By all. By all. He's not one of the fellas. He's not a good dude. It is what it is. He's done a good job promoting the sport. He does a good job of making money so I can't hate the guy for that.
Just as a person, he ain't a friend of mine.
While he may not like McGregor personally, the American agrees that the featherweight champion has only been a positive for the promotion.
He is good for the sport. He's got a lot of eyes. He brings a lot of people. Hats off to him for that but would I hang with him? Nah. He wouldn't be my buddy.
