Despite moving to 4-0 in his UFC careeer, Cathal Pendred was extremely disappointed with his performance in beating Augusto Montano at UFC 188. The Dubliner won an awful contest by unanimous decision.
Boxing writer Kevin Iole actually called it one of the worst fights he has ever seen.
This could be the worst UFC fight I have ever seen.

A major contributing factor to the bout being so bad was the refusal of Montano to engage with Pendred. At one point, Pendred actually stood arms open in the middle of the octagon willing the Mexican to hit him. He told media afterwards about the frustration he felt during the fight.
At one stage I nearly felt like just telling the referee to stop the fight. Because I just couldn't get it going. When we were engaged there was just nothing happening. He was just stalling it and I couldn't get it going. It was just so frustrating.
The statistics certainly corroborate how terrible the fight was on the eye. According to UFC stats man Michael Carroll, the two fighters managed to combine for just 38 significant strikes.
Pendred/Montano officially combined for 38 significant strikes. Andrei Arlovski landed over 50 by himself in less than a round.
