Today a news story has pissed off a hell of a lot of people on the internet after it became apparent that a baby dolphin died due to being passed around for selfies by tourists who found the poor thing washed up on a beach in Argentina.
The video that has been doing the rounds is upsetting, as you can see one eejit after another stroke and prod the dolphin, somehow believing that it would be grand, and posing for pictures over a number of minutes, and as a result many have lost faith with humanity.
But we could only help but wonder how different things would be if former UFC fighter Cathal Pendred had been on hand to sort them out.
Pendred famously rescued a dolphin that had washed up on to the shore at Doonbeg back in 2014. That's right, he didn't whip out his phone and head straight for snapchat, he recognised the poor thing was in danger and saved it.
I just spent an hour in the sea at Doonbeg trying to save a baby dolphin. He was very hurt but alive and well now! ? pic.twitter.com/LlteQKznHj

Cian Healy even put him forward for president:
He kicks the shit out of people for a living and saves dolphins in his spare time.. @PendredMMA to replace Michael D? pic.twitter.com/0274A617Ta

Let this be a lesson. Dolphins belong in the water, if you see one struggling outside of its natural habitat, then put it back.
We would have thought that didn't need to be said, but apparently it does.
