We had a mixed reaction to the news that Conor McGregor had teamed up with Vin Diesel to play a role in the new 'XXX' movie, but his SBG teammate and former UFC welterweight Cathal Pendred has now followed him into the movie business after landing what we consider to be a dream role.
According to Daragh Keany in today's Sunday World, Cathal Pendred has landed a role in the blockbuster remake of 'Baywatch' featuring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Zac Efron.
Clearly the casting agency saw his beach-rescue potential when he saved that dolphin in Doonbeg:
I just spent an hour in the sea at Doonbeg trying to save a baby dolphin. He was very hurt but alive and well now! ? pic.twitter.com/LlteQKznHj

The report also claims that Pendred is soon set to fly out to LA to film his scenes ahead of the movie's release this summer.
Pendred retired after his loss to Tom Breese in Dublin back in October, and has since set up a chain of 'Chopped' health-food spots around Dublin, but now it appears that he will pursue an acting career as well.
The Rock has been updating his Instagram followers on the movie's development, so hopefully we see some snaps of Pendred on set in the not too distant future.
Best of luck to Cathal, we'll be eager to see his involvement when the film is relesed.
