Following his win against Augusto Montano at UFC 188, Cathal Pendred has been very active in trying to organise himself another fight before July 19th.
The reason for that, he told RTÉ, is that if he wins again before that date, he will be the only active fighter to go 5-0 in the UFC in less than a year.
The latest possibility for an opponent is Andrew Craig. The Texan is a middleweight, so it could mean a move up in class for Pendred if the fight was to go ahead.
Craig was due to fight Edgar García at UFC Fight Night San Diego on July 15th but it seems the Mexican has been forced to pull out due to injury.
Pendred and Craig now want a fight between the two of them to go ahead.
Hey @aHIGHLIGHTcraig, with Garcia out injured, do you not have an opponent now for UFC in San Diego on July 15th?
