In one week's time we will finally have a sense of closure (for the time being, at least) in the Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz saga which has gripped the MMA world seven since the Californian choked the UFC featherweight champion into submission last March.
McGregor, according to Dana White, has been "obsessed" with the idea of the rematch and the winding road this fight has endured - taking in missed press conferences and retirements tweets along the way - has been one of the more dramatic build-ups to a UFC fight in recent memory.
In the very first episode of the Balls.ie MMA podcast, your host John Balfe and Mikey Traynor speak to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com to gather his thoughts on next weekend's big fight.
Our second guest Chris 'The Heat' van Heerden is a South African professional boxer who was called into Conor McGregor's camp in Los Angeles to spar with the Dubliner in advance of the Diaz clash and we speak to him to find his insight on his time spent in the ring with McGregor and where the fight might be won or lost.
