Another Conor McGregor UFC Record Has Already Been Broken At UFC 198

When stars fall by the wayside, another one will come up and replace them. That's the UFC's mantra anyway. While McGregor's recent stance will have annoyed the big money makers at the promotion - the UFC have held to their guns.

An immediate glance at the ratings for UFC 197 in comparison to the figures that McGregor hauls in, seemed to hint that the Dubliner was in a different class for the UFC in terms of branding. His PPV figures at UFC 196 were three times more than what the top two pound for pound fighters brought for UFC 197.

But, that might have been an anomaly. The next numbered PPV event will take place in Curitiba, Brazil this weekend, and it looks like it's going to be crazy. There was a new record set for attendance at UFC weigh-ins. The previous record was for a McGregor headlined show UFC 189 last July with 10,000 people. UFC 198 smashed that with an estimated 15,000 showing up. That'll put a smile on Dana White's face.

That looks like the end of the record-breaking for this weekend though. There will be an estimated 45,000 capacity for tomorrow - which won't break UFC 193's all-time record.
