If, and admittedly it's a big if, all the fighters scheduled to fight in the UFC on the weekend of December 11th-12th can stay healthy, then we have one hell of a weekend on our hands.
The announcement that The Ultimate Fighter Finale will be held in Las Vegas the day before UFC 194 when Conor McGregor takes on Jose Aldo in a featherweight title unification fight was greeted with cheers from UFC fans, and now we have learned that the headline fight for that event has a very attractive name attached to it.
With an undefeated pro MMA record of 22-0, Khabib Nurmagomedov will fight Tony Ferguson, who is currently riding a six fight UFC win streak, at the TUF 22 finale in what will be one hell of an exciting main event.
Nurmagomedov has been unlucky to have not yet recived a UFC title shot, and many expected his next fight to be against Anthony Pettis with the winner taking on the winner of Rafael Dos Anjos vs Donald Cerrone, but instead the man from Dagestan will have to wait once more.
Should Khabib emerge victorious, you would have to think that a title shot is a certainty, but Ferguson has a lot of momentum coming into the fight and will look to break the impressive streak that Nurmagomedov has amassed.
Fingers crossed everything goes to plan and we get a fantastic weekend of UFC action.
