Amir Khan Wants To Prove He's A 'Real Man' By Fighting Conor McGregor

Now that we have all realised that the rumours of the Mayweather v McGregor boxing match was nothing but a publicity stunt, as we told you from day one, Amir Khan has become the latest top boxer to talk up a potential scrap with Conor McGregor - though there just might be a little bit more merit to this one.

Khan, who had his senses briefly removed so brutally by Canelo Alvarez in May, has talked up a bout with the UFC's featherweight champion though, unlike Money Mayweather, Khan seems content to pursue an MMA bout with the Dubliner.

According to Box Nation, Khan elaborated:

I'll go and fight McGregor just to prove I'm a real man. I'm not one to back away. I’ve never backed away from any fight and I never will.

Conor, you’re a big name and let’s make this fight happen. I’d love to take him on. If Conor wants it, let’s have it!

More unsubstantiated talk from a boxer trying to get some publicity off the back of McGregor? Quite possibly. But it's worth nothing that Khan IS the owner of the Indian MMA organisation Super Fight League and has spoken in previous interviews about his intentions to take a year off from boxing to try and develop an MMA skillset.

This can probably file this under 'will never happen' but don't pretend for a second you wouldn't be glued to the TV to see what happens.
