It's finally here. Cheltenham 2022 kicks off today at Prestbury Park. It's sure to be an epic festival. It's the first time in three years that the global pandemic does not cast a shadow over the race meeting, and we're eagerly anticipating four days of brilliant jumps racing.
Below, we present our world famous Balls.ie Tipster Table. Every year we gather and collate all of the tips from all of the Irish tipsters attending Cheltenham and present them to you in one place. This will give you a clear guide on the NAPs, the longshots and the big each-way shouts.
With Ireland's 23-5 rout over the British horses at Cheltenham last year, the winner of the 2022 Prestbury Cup has been the source of much speculation this year. Most insiders are forecasting this festival for Ireland, though it can hardly be as one-sided as last year, you'd imagine.
If the British side are looking to keep it close on the final leaderboard, they'll need to make a very strong start during today's races. Interestingly, they have two strong shouts in the festival's first two races. Speaking to Balls.ie for Ladbrokes, Dan Skelton tipped Constitution Hill as his favourite for the festival in the Supreme Novices, and also likes favourite Edwardstone in the Arkle.
The day's big race - the Champion Hurdle - is all about the undefeated Honeysuckle. The Henry de Bromhead horse and Cheltenham star will start the race as an 8/13 favourite and the trainer confirmed the horse is in fine form after winning at the Dublin Racing Festival last month.
"She seems really well in herself. She's actually in mighty form and everything has gone great since you saw her last. It's all very positive."
According to the likes of Paul Townend, Appreciate It remains the most likely challenger.
