Cheltenham Day 2 Picks
Ballymore Novices' Hurdle
The favourite going into this race is Sir Gerhard and it looks like it might be a successful start for the Irish.
Paul Townend: "Sir Gerhard, he's a bumper winner, a course winner around there. Going really well at home> I don't think this race has the depth of the Supreme."
Brown Advisory Novices' Chases
Bravemansgame is another short favourite to win this race with L'Homme Presse not too far behind with the bookies.
Paul Townend: "Bravemansgame has been very impressive what he's done. He's improve since he gone chasing. I think Capodanno has a live chance in this."
Nina Carberry: "It looks like it's going to cut up a bit. Bravemansgame, the form going into it and it looks like he's going to go for that race so he's the one for me."
Dan Skelton: "L'Homme Presse has ben very impressive in his Novice chases so far but Venetia Williams will wants to run dependent on the ground in this or the two and a half. If he turned up in this especially, the way the race could cut up, he's in with a chance. But on what we've seen Bravemansgame do, he'll be a hard horse to beat."
Champion Chase
Dan Skelton: "We'll give Nube Negra his best shot, the better the ground the better his chance. There's some mighty horses ahead of him in the betting though and we're going in there realistic. I think he's got a chance."
Paul Townend: "Hopefully I can pick the right one(between Chacun pour soi and Energumene). Shishkin is an incredible horse and hard to see how Energumene can change their form, at Ascot I thought everything went right there. Chacun never hash shown his A game in England so it's a decision that's going to be hard to make."
Nina Carberry: "I think Shiskin is a proper Grade 1 horse and I'd love to see him win. He's just been incredible, of course Willie has had question marks so Shishkin for me is rock solid going into the week."
In some of the other races going on today Dan Skelton has got another horse running at the Coral Cup at 2:50pm.
I've got a good runner in the Coral Cup, Unexpected Party. If he wins there'll be an expected party.
