After a weekend when an Irish woman became the undisputed world boxing champion, another Irish woman won gold at the European Rowing Championships, and the Republic of Ireland Under 21s beat Guus Hiddink's China, it was understandable the crowd came out in force today at Dublin Airport to welcome home the man responsible for it all.
Minister for Sport Shane Ross emerged into Arrivals in Terminal 2 to the rapturous welcome of hundreds grateful for the minister's sacrifices and Trojan work for the betterment of Irish sport. Also pictured: Katie Taylor.
