The Great Pink Run is back for its 11th year!
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it's not feasible to organise giant runs across the country amongst thousands of people.
However, do not fret, as the Great Pink Run is going VIRTUAL!
Wherever you may be, you can get involved in getting a sweat on and raising funds for Breast Cancer Ireland on the weekend of October 16th-17th.
The steps involved are simple:
-
Help turn the globe pink by registering for the Great Pink Run here.
- Choose whether you're going to run, walk, jog or wheel.
- Set the target of how much you think you can raise. Use your Just Giving page and ask friends and family to sponsor you so you can reach your target.
- Share your achievements. Use the hashtag #GreatPinkRun to share your run and show off your t-shirt and medal. There'll also be prizes for the best-dressed in pink!
The aim for this year's event is to collectively clock up over 40,700km, which is the circumference of the globe!
Over the last eleven years, the Great Pink Run has seen over €3.5 million raised for Breast Cancer Ireland, coupled with around 57,000 participants logging around 375,000km.
Also, if you have any trepidation in getting involved with the event, there are also training tips that can benefit your run, as well as your fitness in the short and long-term.
Head over to the Great Pink Run website and look at their 'Couch to 5km' tips to help you prepare for the big event.
There are different training regimes for different people, so don't be afraid to dive in!
We're thrilled to have @missnadinereid on board to support the #GreatPinkRun this year! Here's why Nadine is taking part. Join us in your locale to clock up those KMs and help us turn the globe pink!
