Kevin Mahony scored one of the most unique goals you will see in this year’s championship as Ballygunner comfortably defeated Kilruane McDonaghs in the Munster SHC quarter final.
The Waterford champions ran out decisive 19-point winners over the Tipperary champions as they move on to the semi-finals with a 4-20 to 0-15 victory.
One of the standout players of the game was Kevin Mahony, who scored two goals to help Ballygunner to victory.
Mahony’s first goals has to be seen to be believed, as he somehow fired the ball into the net while he was on his knees.

Despite the best efforts of the Kilruane defence to stop him, it’s incredible the amount of power he struck the sliotar with to score their second goal of the game.
From that moment on, Ballygunner never looked like losing as they found another gear to push ahead of Kilruane McDonagh’s and into the semi finals.
In a game that got off to a frantic start, Ballygunner were always one step ahead of the Tipperary side, as they had a 0-6 to 0-2 lead after 13 minutes.
While Kilruane McDonaghs were able to stay within touching distance of Ballygunner for the majority of the first half, Ballygunner kept the scoreboard ticking as they had their first goal just before half time through Patrick Fitzgerald, giving them a 1-11 to 0-7 lead at the interval.

The Tipperary side failed to recover from the goal just before half time, as Ballygunner scored 1-2 in the opening two minutes of the second half that included Kevin Mahony’s incredible goal.
While the Tipperary champions tried to force a comeback, their wodes an errors were punished as Ballygunner put the foot down in the second half to put some distance between the sides.
Harry Ruddle scored Ballygunner's third goal with a brilliant finish, while Mahony's second was the icing on the cake in an impressive victory for the All-Ireland champions.
