The 2024 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship is reaching it's climax this weekend as the last round of round robin fixtures are due to take place, with every county having something to play for on the last day.
The championship began in the South-East in April, as Wexford drew with Dublin at home in a thrilling affair. Galway eased to victory in their opener against newly promoted Carlow, while The Cats thumped Antrim in Kilkenny.
Round two started off with Antrim pulling off a surprise win against Wexford in Belfast, followed up by a Dublin win away to Carlow. Last years finalists Galway and Kilkenny played out an entertaining draw at Pearse Stadium.
In the first match of round three, the Yellowbellies bounced back with a comfortable win against Galway at home in Wexford. Dublin then continued their unbeaten run in the championship with a convincing win at home to Antrim, while Carlow pulled off an upset draw against Kilkenny at Netwatch Dr. Cullen Park.
Round four started off with Galway cruising to victory against Antrim in a trip to Corrigan Park, while Kilkenny reclaimed top spot off Dublin with a close win in Parnell Park. Wexford finished off the weekend with a convincing win away to Carlow.
In round five, Antrim host Carlow in what will be a relegation decider while Kilkenny host Wexford and Dublin travel to Pearse Stadium to face Galway. A win for Carlow would see them remain in the Leinster championship, while a draw would be enough for Antrim to avoid relegation to the Joe McDonagh Cup for 2025. For Galway, Dublin and Wexford, a win would put them into the Leinster final, while Kilkenny only need a draw to seal their place at Croke Park on June 8th.
