Jockey Evan Daly was fortunate to avoid serious injury during Navan races today as he found himself inches away from an in-race field while out running the track.
The Grade Three For Auction Novice Hurdle nearly took a disastrous turn when Daly appeared alongside the bunch after they cleared a hurdle. He was busy preparing for his own rides later in the afternoon and immediately sprinted out of harm's way.
This could have been nasty at Navan!! Just guessing obviously, but looks like a jockey out jogging the track and I can only assume he had headphones in and didn’t hear the horses coming?! ?? pic.twitter.com/OR9mO2G1lW

A fairly frightening moment down the back in the For Auction Novice Hurdle... pic.twitter.com/eXUNBiG78K

Per Racing UK, Daly was called in before the stewards and told them he was wearing headphones and did not realise the horses were there until the last minute.
