Presenter Matt Chapman's face said it all.
Horse racing probably doesn't receive its dues for producing television gold, be it post-race jockey interviews or just the sheer sight of the legendary Mouse Morris trying to comprehend that his horse has just won the Grand National.
Last night, however, it was the folks on the other side of the microphone who produced the magic.
When Derek Thompson of At The Races stuck the mic out to interview jockey Josephine Gordo, surely nobody could have imagined in their wildest dreams what he was about to inadvertently blurt out after Gordo explained that her mother would have been in bed instead of tuning in to her daughter's victorious race.
Brace yourselves...
One of our favourite clips in a long time!
Kudos to @MCYeeehaaa, @tommoracing and @josephinegordo. https://t.co/WvkVM5KBey— At The Races (@AtTheRaces) September 8, 2016
...If I know your mum, she certainly won't...
Cue anchor Matt Chapman producing a facial expression that could only really be described as one of pure astonishment, beautifully preventing one of those devastating 'ah, I'm the only one who found it funny' moments. There's a reason why he was the 2010 HWPA Broadcaster of the Year.
As for Thompson, well, it was simply an attempt to be friendly gone wrong. But a veteran such as himself should surely know that when you accidentally say something like, 'If I know your mum', you need to stop talking immediately.
