The sheer strength of Irish racing at the moment means that not a meeting goes by without something remarkable happening.
Regardless of where the meetings take place, you can rest assured that the Irish are going to put on a show.
So, with that in mind, Ladbrokes have assembled two tips for mid-week Irish meetings at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown that you might want to keep an eye on.
Fairyhouse - Tuesday - 18:15
After a drop in class, MacGiloney looks like the one to beat in this race in County Meath.
He's previously won on this course and is at his best on good ground. At 4/1, he looks a fair bet, especially considering the field is a lot weaker than the Grade 3 he faced around this same track last time out.
TIP: MacGiloney
Leopardstown - Wednesday - 15:45
At this flat card in South Dublin, the feature race is undoubtedly the 15:45, with a high class field assembled. Ancient Spirit looks the pick of the bunch, with Jessica Harrington’s horses rounding into form nicely. Furthermore, he has already proved himself very useful at this level.
The hope is that Shane Foley can open out a lead which the field can't peg back, with the likes of Saltonstall and Lope Y Fernandez the stand out horses in the pack. Indeed, Lope Y Fernandez is sure to put a warm order on the back of his third-place finish in the Breeder’s Cup Mile last November however he looks one to oppose at the likely prices. His trainer has already reported him to be a little behind in his work this Spring and it is very likely that this is being used as a springboard to bigger targets in the coming months.
TIP: Ancient Spirit
