The Galway Races continues over this weekend, and this year's festival has once again provided myriad highlights off the course, to match those achieved in the racing itself.
A 96-year-old owner stole the show earlier in the week, and yesterday the limelight belonged to Limerick's Josh Sheahan, owner of horse Top of the Town.
He was in ebullient form ahead of the race, promising that "if this horse wins, Galway will never again see the likes of it".
The interview was peppered with Ger Loughnane-style 'we're going to do it' rallying calls, and other highlights include:
I've been praying all week. I slept with the horse last nioght for two hours, rubbing his belly, I'm talking to him.
I took this woman out last week. 14 Gin and tonics, 7.90 a go, and then she said 'My mother's outside to take me home'.
Any brownie points ye have with the Lord above, get down on your knees and pray to the Lord above that this horse comes in tonight.

In case you are wondering about the odd ending there, in which the interviewer plucks a seemingly random man to ask him about his marriage breaking down, it's a reference to an interview from a few weeks ago:

The horse finished 15th in a 17-horse field, unfortunately.
