Sligo man Derek Fox is the man of the moment as he emerged victorious on the back of One For Arthur in his first ever Grand National, having broken his wrist and collar-bone at the beginning of March.
A 9th placed finish for Pleasant Company and Ruby Walsh meant that he couldn't claim another win on his 13th attempt at the National, but he did produce a moment that left the analysts singing his praises after the race.
Walsh had only failed to finish the Grand National on three occasions from his previous 12 attempts, and it was a miraculous recovery at the 25th fence that ensured he didn't make it four.
He's hailed a taxi and he's stayed on. Well done to Ruby Walsh. That is amazing.
Remarkable, there's not many who would have managed to pull that off. He also did similar in Leopardstown last year:
Not everyone caught it, but those that did were quick to praise him for managing to keep himself in the race.
@Ruby_Walsh Bloody lovely recovery today, no idea how you managed to stay on there! #rodeo #grandnational

Credit to Ruby Walsh on pleasant company, hanging off the horse after canal turn (i think) and then pecking his nose on the next jump
