Cheltenham is firmly in the rearview mirror, and with the way Ireland dominated at the Festival, it'd probably be a good idea to fix your eyes on Irish meetings over the next 12 months.
One such meeting is occurring at Clonmel, with 5/1 shot Oscar Thyne the horse of choice for Ladbrokes in the 17:35.
The six year-old had a varied end to 2020, with September seeing the horse put in a starring run at Kilbeggan to win.
However, next time out at Fairyhouse in November, it came up against a future star of the sport in Monkfish and could only muster a sixth place finish.
Afterwards, at Down Royal in December, he ran creditably before getting quite tired late. Crucially, however, his trainer’s horses were under a bit of a cloud back then and have since come right back to form.
This race at Clonmel will mark the first outing of 2021 for Oscar Thyne, and there is some competition that he'll have to fend off if he wants his second victory of his career.
Sheshoon Sonny and Hesamanofhisword are both well fancied in the market but have been difficult to win with in their careers. Therefore, Oscar Thyne looks a stellar bet at 5/1.
