British TV is quickly finding out that the Irish are absolutely hilarious if you interview them immediately before or after a sports event. First it was the O'Donovan's, now it's Josh Sheahan.
Don't be too worried if you don't know him, you're about to. He's the owner of the Top of the Town pub in Askeaton, County Limerick. He owns a horse of the same name, which raced in the 3:40 Michael English Country Music steeplechase at Limerick yesterday.
Trainer Charles Byrne had already taken two winners earlier in the day, so Top of the Town was going for the hat trick. The gelding had won three of its last six entries, including the Novice Chase at Tipperary in May.
Before the race, At The Races caught up with Sheahan and his crew who were considerably merry:

Despite Sheahan's assurances that Top of the Town would win, the nine-year-old finished over 17 lengths behind the Mouse Morris-trained winner Baily Moon.
Sheahan took the opportunity of the post-race interview to recoup some of the losses he made during the rest of the races:
As many as ye can, will ye come to Top Of The Town and spend a few pound? I'm after losing a rake of money here today. I'm begging ye on live TV, please come back!

We're sure this won't be the last you hear of Josh Sheahan.
