The Cheltenham festival is the biggest event in the racing calendar each year, with huge numbers of punters descending upon the English venue to take in four days of top quality racing every March.
Some of the best horses on the world are on display, all of whom are coming out of incredibly successful stables across Ireland and the UK.
Of course, there is always an interesting mix in the crowd at Cheltenham. Whereas many of those onsite are the most passionate horse racing fans, trainers, and owners around, there is also a large proportion of people who just show up for a good day out. There is nothing wrong with that of course, although it can lead to some interesting interactions over the course of the week.
We were given one example of that this afternoon.

Irishman had hilarious reaction to English punters at Cheltenham
The Irish contingent have dominated proceedings at Cheltenham this week, with no shortage of happy trainers, owners, and punters from this part of the world at the venue to make the most of those successes.
That includes Luke McMahon, one of the most well-known personalities in Irish racing. He is a former bookmaker turned professional gambler, having also dipped his toe into horse ownership down through the years. He is sure to have backed a few winners over the last few days, also providing a hilarious moment on our television screens today.
When speaking on ITV, the interview was interrupted by a number of boisterous English punters. McMahon would provide possibly the line of the week in response.
Quote of the day

When God made eejits, he made plenty of them!
Top quality.
This was all in good fun of course, with the lads involved only having a bit of craic and making the most of their day at Cheltenham. More power to them.
