The weekend's Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown has gone down as an all round success, with its popularity up drastically from last year's event.

Racing pundit Kevin Blake tweeted out that attendance was up 40% from last year and that 27% of all ticket purchases were from the UK.

It was a high quality festival with trainers such as Willie Mullins - whose horse Galop Des Champs took home the Irish Gold Cup - Henry de Bromhead, and Gordon Elliot all competing.

RTE's Jane Mangan also expressed her joy at the festival's success, saying that "Over 34k people came to the Dublin Racing Festival & made it the most enjoyable weekend of Irish racing that most of us have ever experienced. Amazing #DRF"

The success of the 2023 edition highlights the massive potential of a high-quality Dublin based racing festival, and if the event can keep building year on year there is no reason why it cannot rival some of the more popular and prestigious meets.
