It's been a year of sport unlike any other but the 2020 Irish Greyhound Derby, which took place last night in Shelbourne Park, proved to be as dramatic as ever. Newinn Taylor was a famous winner for trainer Graham Holland. The surprise of the night came from Meenagh Miracle, the only bitch in the running, who was priced at up to 25/1 at the start of the evening. She ran a valiant race to finish second and nearly pip Newinn Taylor at the finish line.

We'd just like to take a moment to thank everyone for their wishes of good luck ahead of tonight, it's greatly appreciated.
Very best of luck to proud owner @realSimonTaylor, and all other Finalists, may the best dog win!… pic.twitter.com/ZeJxdjNhFD— 🆁🅸🆅🅴🆁🆂🅸🅳🅴 🅺🅴🅽🅽🅴🅻🆂 (@RiversideKenne) September 19, 2020
Newinn Taylor's main rival, the magnificent Pestana, started very strong in trap 4 only to take a spill as the dogs converged around the first bend and suffer an injury.
It was Graham Holland's second consecutive Derby win.
