2023 US Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson was among those to struggle with the weather conditions at The Masters this week, missing the cut at Augusta after recording a score of seven-over across the first two rounds.
A winner of the tournament in 2007, the 48-year old remains a fixture in the field each despite the fact that he is no longer at the peak of his powers. After missing the cut this year, he had now failed to make the weekend in three of the last four editions.
As well as that, there has been some criticism of his behaviour during yesterday's second round.

Zach Johnson denies abusing patrons at The Masters
Zach Johnson is not considered one of the more popular figures on the PGA Tour, with his behaviour on the course having upset people in the past. That was the case once again at The Masters.
After making a triple bogey on the 12th hole at Augusta, he appeared to respond to applause from the patrons on show by telling them to 'f**k off'.

Considering that the fans at The Masters are the most well behaved in professional golf, it was an odd incident.
Speaking after the round, Johnson would deny that his comment was directed at the partons.
What are they saying that I did or said? That I swore at the patrons? That's laughable.
That's completely laughable. I can't hear the patrons, No. 1. No. 2, I just made a triple bogey on the 12th hole that evidently is going to make me miss the cut, which at the time I knew was pretty sensitive in the sense that I needed to keep making pars.
If I've said anything, which I'm not going to deny, especially if it's on camera, one, I apologise, and two, it was fully directed towards myself entirely because I can't hear anything behind me. Does that make sense?
You can make your own mind up on that one.
It was certainly a frustrating couple of days for Johnson at The Masters, with his emotions getting the better of him here.
