After a tumultuous opening hole, Ernie Els has successfully negotiated what many believe to be the easiest shot in golf.
The seventh putt.
Els has seven-putted the 1st hole at Augusta (that's 'Tea Olive' for the Horticulture lovers) in the past few minutes, registering a 10 for a sextuple bogey.
He is thus +6 over par after one hole.
He put the ball on the dancefloor after three shots. On the green itself, he made Happy Gilmore look like Brad Faxon, managing to take six putts from a distance of four foot.
He had tiptoed his initial par putt to within a short distance. That was only the start of it.
