While Shane Lowry couldn't replicate his excellent first round on day two of The Masters 2016, Rory McIlroy finished one under par leaving him at -3 for the tournament and hoping for a slip up from Jordan Spieth.
McIlroy got off to a flyer as he birdies the first two holes, but immediately undid that good work with bogeys at the third and fourth. Another bogey at 11 was not the start he would have wanted on the back nine, but a fantastic run of three consecutive birdies was topped off by a lovely put at 16 which brought him up to second place at the time.

It was a putt the others had been struggling with all day, and Rory absolutely nailed it.

Fingers crossed that round 3 goes according to plan, we would love for McIlroy to be in the shakeup on Sunday.
