The European Tour's twitter account today asked the question; 'Is Padraig Harrington the first golfer to dab?' after a clow mo clip suggested the Dubliner may have whipped out the current craze that primary school kids are obsessed with while walking up to the 18th tee.
The video was inconclusive, as it looked like Harrington was simply wiping sweat onto his sleeve, but here's the footage regardless.
"I promised my son I would dab on the 18th"
Is @Padraig_H the first golfer to "dab"?
This footage suggests so... https://t.co/iMALQiLDxK— The European Tour (@EuropeanTour) November 2, 2016
And it turns out that Harrington did, in fact, dab.
So the next question was, naturally, why?
Was it his love of hip-hop group Migos? His admiration for Paul Pogba? The fact that he's been pumping hours into FIFA 17 where that celebration is done every time a goal is score online? No.
It's because he promised his son he would. Harrington took to twitter to clear things up.
It was just a little "dab". That's why I was smiling/laughing to myself as I walked on to the green. #uncooldad https://t.co/FmztCs8ciy

Just a 'little dab' it is then.
Fair play to him, he both fulfilled a promise to his son and managed to not embarrass himself by half-arsing the dab attempt. Best of both worlds.
Everybody's 'hitting the Quan' now anyway...
