The life of a golf pro is widely portrayed as one of plenty. Ireland's golfing elite have built careers in a game that has given them fame, fortune, and the opportunity to chase a dream.

The Long Walk, a new documentary from Motive television shows another side of the pro game.

Moving away from the glamour of Augusta, the makers of RTE's 'The Notorious' documentary about Conor McGregor focus on the peripheries of the golfing world, and the lives of struggling pros chasing a dream; a full European Tour card.

The two-part documentary also follows full ranking tour players Peter Lawrie and David Higgins who, missed cut after missed cut, are embroiled in a dogfight to hold onto their European cards.

Featuring other well-known contributors including Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley, Rocco Mediate, Damien McGrane and Shane Lowry, 'The Long Walk' looks extremely promising.

It premieres this Wednesday on Setanta Sports at 10 p.m.
