Maybe Danny Willett's brother had a point?
American golf fans aren't the most popular bunch, at least on this side of the Atlantic. The good ones - and there are many - are tarred by the idiots who roar 'Baba booey' or whatever the hell, and get a tad too boisterous in their patriotism when the Ryder Cup rolls around. Their essentially the J1 students of world sport.
Just a day after a US fan produced a moment of legitimate Ryder Cup magic while jokingly heckling Justin Rose during Europe's practice round, Rose has fallen victim to some dreadful tomfoolery once more. But this time in the real tournament.
Rose and Henrik Stenson were beaten 3&2 by Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed, but on the 15th hole, Rose faced a three-foot putt which would have pulled the scores back to a single hole between the two pairs.
But about three seconds before Rose hit his putt, an American fan can clearly be heard shouting, "You're gonna miss!". Rose subsequently missed the putt, and the US went 2Up with three holes remaining.
"You're gonna miss!" Hmm, almost feeling sympathy for @DannyWillet 's brother that moment when @JustinRose99 was putting... #RyderCup2016

American fans are a disgrace shouting at Justin Rose before his putt "you're gonna miss" . No class. #RyderCup #goTeamEurope

@ColinMurray Willetts bro was right about the Yanks " he's going to miss it " just as Justin Rose was about to putt

Whether or not the shout had any effect on Rose's putt is another thing; he was frankly appalling on the green all day. But it's clearly audible and he doubtless would have heard it, which is far from ideal when you're lining up such an important shot.
In any case, it's hardly a very sporting gesture from the fan in question, as he simply perpetuates the reputation that American fans have rightly or wrongly garnered over the years.
Earlier this week, Danny Willett's brother penned this piss-taking tribute to American golf fans, much to the ire of European captain Darren Clarke.
