The first trailer for the new PGA Tour 2K23 game has dropped, revealing a release date of October 11 for the deluxe and Tiger Woods editions, and October 14 for the standard game.
The main new feature is the addition of playable characters, most notably the face of the game Tiger Woods. It has also been confirmed that Michael Jordan will be a playable character, while the appearance of the beloved Shooter McGavin in the trailer has lead to speculation that he will also feature in the upcoming game.
Other playable golfers include PGA Tour stars Will Zalatoris, Tony Finau and Justin Thomas, while gamers will also be able to play with LPGA Tour pros such as Lexi Thompson and Lydia Ko.
There will be 20 courses available on release, including the Renaissance Club, TPC Sawgrass, and St. George's Golf and Country Club, with more to follow.
The licensed PGA Tour/FedEx Cup career mode is back, along with the uber popular golf course designer, which players use to create stunning original courses to be shared with a large community of designers.
Another new feature is addition of Top Golf. The real-life driving range company has teamed up with PGA Tour 2K23 and will be a playable training mode.

The signing of Tiger Woods to the PGA Tour 2k franchise was announced last year, and is a major coup given EA's announcement that it will be releasing a new golf game of its own and its first since 2014.
Tiger Woods was of course the face of their golf series from Tiger Woods 99 - 14, before Rory McIlroy's image became the face of EA Sport's last golf game in 2014.
The PGA Tour 2K golf series was created HB Studios as The Golf Club in 2014, before 2K took over for The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour.
PGA Tour 2K21 was released in 2020 to generally positive reviews, and acts as more of a golf sim compared to the 'arcadey' style of the EA Sports series.
With EA Sports announcing the exclusive licensing for the Masters and golf's other major tournaments, the release of the 2K covers with Tiger Woods were timely announcements, as the golfing world gears up for a battle of the video games in 2023.
