Tiger Woods has been out injured from golf since last August. It was rumoured that he would be back soon, after footage of him swinging surfaced last month.
Knowing Tiger, it was thought that Woods would push himself to be back for the majors. But the golfer revealed on his website today that he will not be playing at the US Open in Oakmont:
While I continue to work hard on getting healthy, I am not physically ready to play in this year's U.S. Open and the Quicken Loans National. I am making progress, but I'm not yet ready for tournament competition.
Tiger did say he will host the Quicken Loans event, but he won't play in it. It does look like he's getting closer to a return.
But that return won't be in the next two weeks.
Woods hasn't ruled out a return at the Open, which is in five weeks time.
