Tiger Woods this morning withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic just an hour ahead of the second round of the tournament due to lower back spasms. On Thursday, Woods finished five-over for the first round.
Woods's agent Mark Steinberg explained the reasons for his client's withdrawal.
He can move around, he just can't make a full rotation on the swing.
Steinberg was keen to emphasise that the back spasms are a separate issue to the nerve pain which kept him out of action for 15 months.
The fact that he feels it's not the nerve pain is very encouraging for him.
Woods began suffering from the spasms after dinner on Thursday night.
Last week, Woods played his first PGA Tour event in nearly 18 months as he missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
