Four Long Shots That Will Help You Make Big Money At The Open

We've already looked at the top contenders for the Open, as well as the top Irish contenders, but if you are like us you love a flutter on some bigger prices. There's nothing more satisfying on some big-price winners giving out a 'well-earned/fluker' pay-out.

With that in mind - here are four of the best big-prices to do well in the Open this year.

Brooks Koepka 66/1

Finished in the top ten at the Dunhill Links last year with a 64 and 68 on the Old Course, hits it an absolute mile (10th in driving distance), and can putt (9th in strokes gained:putting). The 25-year-old is ranked 22nd in the world, and is on a rise to the top. He will never be this long at a major again.

Victor Dubuisson 66/1

The joint record score holder with a host of other interesting contenders including past champion Louis Oosthuizen and fellow contender Tommy Fleetwood. The Frenchman finished 12th at his home French Open before scraping into the top ten last week at the Scottish Open hinting that he's approaching form.

In form and likes the course? At 66/1, that's enough to be very tempted.

Tommy Fleetwood 80/1

Five of the last six Open champions missed the cut the previous year. The last one who didn't? Darren Clarke. Aside from that nugget of useless information - Tommy Fleetwood could be the man to continue that trend.

Fleetwood is an animal around St. Andrews posting a 13 under two round score finishing at the Dunhill links last year when he finished second to Branden Grace. Is a fantastic player from tee-to-green, and while he can be streaky with the putter, two top 11 finishes in his last two starts are an important signal of form.

Kevin Kisner 125/1

Kevin Kisner is that guy at a party who no one remembers seeing, but happens to be in every photograph. Five top ten finishes in his last nine tournaments, which don't include a 12th place at the US Open, Kisner will be the guy who won't get any air time on Sunday, but whose name will be on the leaderboard the entire time.

His stats aren't special - his driving distance is ranked 126th, his Greens in Regulation is ranked 71st, but he's quite accurate. His scrambling is ranked 11th, his driving accuracy is 16th and his putting is phenomenal. His three-putt avoidance is ranked 8th on tour meaning he doesn't miss the short putts (4th on putts between four and eight feet, 5th on putts inside ten).

Anyone who can putt always has a chance, and you should start dreaming on how you should spend your money here.
