For the first time since 1951 The British Open is being hosted on Irish soil and we'll be keeping you up to date with everything that happens in Royal Portrush, County Antrim, through The Open Leaderboard.
Shane Lowry goes into the final round with a four-shot lead over Englishman and playing partner, Tommy Fleetwood.
The Open Leaderboard:
Before the tournament, former US Open winner and local lad, Graeme McDowell, spoke of his excitement to have a major in his home town, saying "As soon as the tournament was announced I wanted to be here. I’ve missed the last couple of Opens and sitting at home watching on TV was painful. I had a conversation with myself in the middle of last year and started to embrace the challenge a little bit more and enjoyed trying to drag myself out of the hole I’d dug for myself.”
Local lad Rory McIlroy has missed the cut in Portrush but gave his vote of confidence to Lowry for the weekend.
"I can’t wait to watch Shane Lowry over the weekend. He’ll get the support I got today, and hopefully, he’ll will them on. I’d love nothing more than to see Shane get his name on that Claret Jug."
Elsewhere, Tommy Fleetwood's recent form has him looking likely to be in the mix-up come the business end while make sure to keep an eye on both Brooks Koepka and Irish Open winner, John Rahm. There is also the question of Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth, who could yet play a part over the coming two days of golf.
