Day one at the 2023 Open Championship is nearly over with most of the field in the clubhouse.
The course was perhaps a little bit more difficult than expected with Tommy Fleetwood and amateur Christo Lamprecht leading at five under par.
Two-time major winner and former Open Champion, Colin Morikawa, is currently in s tie for 67th at two over par, after 14 holes.
Despite his lowly position, he produced a wonderful birdie on the third hole, sinking a putt from off the green, while also avoiding Phil Mickelson's drive from the group behind.

Out of the Irish, amateur Alex Maguire finished on +1, Darren Clarke on +2, Padraig Harrington on +3, Seamus Power on level par, Shane Lowry on +1, while Rory McIlroy is still out on the course.
After his round, Shane Lowry spoke to the media and discussed his feeling on the opening day.
"I felt like there was decent stuff in there and a few silly mistakes. A little disappointing where I feel like I might have played a little bit better than that. Level par before I played out there and with the two par 5s to come you think you're going to give yourself a chance to shoot under par.
"Look, it is what it is. There's some good scores. I haven't really looked at the scores, but I'm sure there's some bad scores, as well. I didn't feel like it was that easy. I felt like the back nine was playing quite tricky. To get the ball in the fairway and get irons in your hand, tricky shots, wind in out of the left.
"Yeah, I don't really know what to make of my day. Kind of felt pretty average. Some nice stuff but some average stuff, as well."
