The BBC has attracted many enemies down the years, Margaret Thatcher, Alastair Campbell, Alex Ferguson. But this morning, they have made what may turn out to be their biggest enemy of all. The county of Offaly.
We're well aware of their practise of referring to every place in this country in relation to its proximity to Dublin, and their even more objectionable habit of dubbing rural Leinster men of all hues as 'Dubliners.'
Well, now they've gone too far. Today, they've recast one of Offaly's most famous sporting sons as a citizen of the capital.
