Shane Lowry was able to recover after a scare halfway through his round to remain in the lead at The 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
The Offaly man was on fire during Thursday and he went out for his second round on Friday morning looking to extend his lead and it looked like he was heading in that direction.
Lowry had three birdies on his front 9 at the 1st, 4th and 8th holes as he reached a score of -7 heading into the back 9 of the course. However things started to go awry for him at the 11th, known as "The Railway."
It's one of the toughest holes on the course and it claimed Lowry as its next victim as his tee shot landed in some long fescue grass. The ball was deep in the grass and as Lowry went to hit his second shot he took a chunk of grass with him and the ball went stray to the left side.
Lowry immediately caught on camera as he went on an expletive-laden rant to a cameraman who he said had distracted the one-time major winner as he was hitting his shot.
As I was over the ball, I could just see you with the f---ing camera up!Just get back there! F---’s sake!
Lowry sprays one left and immediately pissed at the cameraman.

Lowry had to take declare a provisional as the ball went lost. He was still able to hold his nerve on the par 4 hole and settled for a double bogey.
It obviously wasn't ideal but being able to not have a full catastrophe on that hole and recover was commendable.
Lowry was able to fully recover his round with a couple of birdies to finish his round of 69 and still in the lead on -7 heading into the weekend.
