Poor Hudson Swafford, a player on the Nationwide Tour, had a remarkable stroke of bad luck the other day. The golfer, who played in the 2010 and 2014 US Open, missing the cut both times, thought he was safe taking his practise swing well back from his shimmering golf ball... Or was it bad luck?

The same thing happened to Justin Rose in September of last year in the 3rd round of the BMW Championship. He suffered a one-stroke penalty for this.
The lesson here. Maybe don't practise directly behind your ball.
