The PGA tour website made a right howler today. According to their official website, Shane Lowry's father Brendan was a well-known "Gaelic soccer star". The golfing association claim that Mr Lowry played the nonexistent sport to such a high level that he dwarfed it.
@ballsdotie looks like the dad of @shanelowrygolf was part of a hybrid GAA-soccer game, according to USPGA profiles.. pic.twitter.com/yIHsadPWpb — Niall Breen (@omegaman3000) August 8, 2014
Clearly the powers that be in the golfing world have insider knowledge on this niche indigenous Irish game that the rest of the island simply does not posses. We've been scratching our heads trying to figure out what aspects from both sports have been included in this new hybrid game. The GSAA have yet to respond to our requests for information.
