While Scottie Scheffler would run as a convincing winner at The Masters, the performance of Ludvig Aberg is sure to get people talking over the coming days.
Playing in his first ever major, the Swede was the only player that looked like he could put it up to Scheffler during Sunday's final round. He would ultimately finish four shots behind the winner, although his play over the course of the four days was massively encouraging.
Aberg only turned professional in June of last year, going on to win the European Masters and being included in the European Ryder Cup team during the months that followed. After his performance at The Masters, he already looks like one of the brightest talents in professional golf.

Shane Lowry tips The Masters breakout Star as future world no. 1
Augusta is a venue that is notoriously difficult for first time players, with very few golfers shining during their first appearance at The Masters. The fact that Ludvig Aberg reversed that trend certainly bodes well for his prospects over the coming years.
Speaking after his own final round, Shane Lowry said that the Swede already looks like a future world no.1.
I think he’s a future world number one.
I don’t need to say any more about him. He’s got a really, really, really bright future ahead of him. He’s already done a few great things in the game, and I’m sure he’ll do many more.
Having played alongside Aberg at last year's Ryder Cup, it's clear that Lowry came away very impressed with the youngster. Rory McIlroy would also say that he was very much 'on the bandwagon' when it came to the young Swede.
The 24-year old admitted he was flattered by the praise, although he is keen not to get ahead of himself with some big tournaments on the horizon.
It’s very flattering. It’s very nice of them to say those things. But I think it just tells me that we are doing some good things, me and my team, and we’re probably not going to change a whole lot. But obviously hearing those things from Rory and those guys is very, very encouraging.
This being my first major championship, you never really know what it’s going to be like until you’re there and experience it.
I think this week has given me a lot of experiences and a lot of lessons learned in terms of those things. It makes me really hungry, and it makes me want to do it again and again.
If his performance at The Masters is anything to go by, we might not have to wait too long before Ludvig Aberg gets a first major title under his belt.
